RAISING AWARENESS OF LOCAL NGOs AND MEDIA ABOUT CORRUPTION AND ETHICS IN TURKEY

Our project was financed under the Central Finance and Contracts Unit, Anti-Corruption and Promoting Ethics Grant Program. Afyonkarahisar Beautiful Tomorrow Association and Social Awareness Association are the partners of the project. The Project name is 'Raısıng Awareness Of Local Ngos And Medıa About Corruptıon And Ethıcs In Turkey'. Our general objectives of our project; Networking between NGOs related to ethics, a film about corruption, preparing a "Corruption Monitoring and Reporting" booklet for local NGOs and media.

Our project activities were as follows;

§ We surveyed with 3,500 people who would represent the entire country and measured the perception of corruption and ethics in Turkey. Then we prepared an analysis report on this subject and printed it as a booklet.

§ We prepared animated films in Turkish, English and sign language in order to increase public awareness on anti-corruption, and the films are still broadcast on our Youtube channel.

§ We prepared a booklet called "Corruption Monitoring and Reporting Guide" to be used during the activities and trainings to be carried out within the scope of capacity building trainings for local NGOs and media employees.

§ We organized capacity building trainings in 7 cities. We carried out awareness-raising and informative activities on ethical codes, corruption and public ethics for 105 NGO representatives and 35 local media employees in these cities.

§ We have established a web-based “Hotline” for citizens who witness corruption or are subjected to unethical behavior by public officials.

§ We established an "Anti-Corruption Network" between NGOs and representatives of NGOs in the target cities of the project, Afyonkarahisar, Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep, Istanbul and Trabzon.
